IndieWire praised Kern’s editing on Robert Duvall's A Night in Old Mexico, calling the film's trailer "stellar", and his trailer for the Canadian indie Lovesick garnered a Best Foreign Romance Trailer nomination at the 2017 Golden Trailer Awards.
