KERN SAXTON
Kern Saxton is an award-winning writer, director and editor. In 2015, his project Stanley Kubrick's Moonshot Odyssey was named a semifinalist (top 2%) in the Academy Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting competition, as well as top 1% in the Austin Film Festival's screenplay contest.
For his feature debut in 2013, Kern directed, edited and co-produced the thriller Sushi Girl, starring Mark Hamill, Tony Todd, James Duval, Noah Hathaway, Jeff Fahey, Michael Biehn, Danny Trejo and Sonny Chiba. Sushi Girl was distributed domestically by Magnolia Pictures, and was released in theaters and on home video in countries around the world.
Kern received his BFA in Filmmaking with an emphasis on Directing from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, where his junior year effort, Roadside Convenience, was selected for competition at the 2004 Tribeca Film Festival, won a Bronze Remi at Worldfest Houston, and has screened on UNC-TV as part of the North Carolina Visions program.
In 2004, Kern relocated to Los Angeles to shadow producer/director John Flynn on the Lifetime Television show Strong Medicine and direct for the show’s second unit. His zombie short film Deader Living Through Chemistry was chosen by master of horror George A. Romero for inclusion on the DVD and Blu-ray release of Diary of the Dead, which was distributed by Dimension Films.
JENNIFER SAXTON
Jennifer Beall Saxton is the Managing Partner of Saxton Cinema. She has an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management and a B.S. in Mathematics from Duke University. She has worked in Management Consulting, Strategy, and founded the baby gear services company Tot Squad. As the Executive in Charge of Production, Jen coordinates the business side of the filmmaking process and is actively involved in film financing, sales, and distribution.
